In the early days of my mission, I aimed to provide both women and men with beautiful 3D areola tattoos to help them feel more confident and comfortable in their skin following breast surgeries. However, I soon realised in my studio that not everyone who undergoes surgery desires a tattoo, and some may need to wait a long time before they can consider one.
While some people embrace their new appearance and prefer to leave their skin and shape exactly as they are, others may not feel ready to get tattooed for months or even years.
I have also worked with friends who were thrilled with their tattoos, yet during our conversations expressed a desire for the appearance and fullness of a nipple following unilateral mastectomy surgery. Although realistic tattoos can provide incredibly natural-looking and empowering results, for some individuals there can still feel like something is missing without the physical appearance of a nipple.
For these individuals, wearable prosthetics can offer an additional restorative option, helping provide realism, confidence and personal comfort as part of their individual journey.
