In the early days of my mission, I aimed to provide both women and men with beautiful 3D areola tattoos to help them feel whole again after breast surgeries. However, I soon realised in my studio that not everyone who undergoes surgery desires a tattoo, and some may need to wait a long time before they can consider it. While some people embrace their new appearance and prefer to leave their skin and shape as they are, others may find themselves unable to pursue tattooing for months or even years.
I have also worked with friends who were thrilled with their tattoos. Yet, during our conversations, they expressed a desire for nipple reconstruction surgery following their unilateral mastectomy, only to be told that it wasn’t an option for them. Although the tattoos are transformative and provide incredible benefits, for some, they will always feel incomplete without the fullness of a nipple. For these individuals, prosthetics are an important sensory addition to their healing journey.
